1955 Infographic

Our brief for the Infographic poster was do design exclusive page in a newspaper that would educate a reader on facts from a particular year. I had been given the year 1955 so I begun researching events and themes from that year to use as inspiration. I decided to do facts on significant people in 1955 which included events as well as the births and deaths of notable people. The colours were inspired by an example of colours used in 50's interior design and I had based the typography on a mix between some of the 50's sci-fi movie posters which featured a lot of warping and distortion in the text as well as 50's programme leaflets that consisted of bold and block fonts.

I finished it by adding a grain and worn-white colours in attempts to make the finishing infographic look authentic. I am happy with the outcome though I would like to go back to it at some point to make adjustments to some of the distortions to improve the alignments. This was good practise for warping typography, experimenting with the broad range of possibilities Illustrator has to offer.
